On January 23, 2010, the people and clergy of the Diocese of Georgia gathered in Savannah with more than a dozen bishops from throughout the Episcopal Church as the Rt. Rev. Scott A. Benhase was consecrated and invested as the tenth bishop of the Diocese of Georgia. Bishop Benhase will serve as the primary overseer of the 70 congregations that compose the Diocese of Georgia, which covers all of northeast, south, and coastal Georgia.
